Further hardware features such as the 1Gbe and especially the 10Gbe connector are very welcome and are clearly a move in the right direction in terms of network speeds.

Buffalo’s LinkStation 220D is a versatile and affordable NAS drive that’s suitable for both home and business users. But, as we’ve seen with Buffalo in the past, its products sometimes lack the straightforward ease of use that Mac and iOS users take for granted.
The TS3420DN is ideal for small businesses that want affordable, uncomplicated network storage at multi-gigabit speeds. The app selection is minimal, but a strong set of backup and security services make this an appliance you can confidently entrust with your irreplaceable data. NextINpact: Advertorial about WS5020N6 and WSH5610DNS6

Buffalo Technology’s TeraStation WS520N6 and WSH5610DNS6 network storage servers (NAS) are designed for businesses looking for a Plug’n’Play storage solution that fits seamlessly into an existing Windows Server installation.
The manufacturer specifies a maximum speed of 430 MB/s – so most of the competition is a bit faster, but for this size the performance is quite convincing.
We reviewed the TS6400DN, which transfers our data at…. 1,1GB/s making it the most powerful NAS of the manufacturer and of our selection with the best value for money.
Then we disconnected one of the two Dell PCs from the Netgear switch and instead coupled a 10 Gb NAS storage of the Buffalo Terastation TS6400DN type to the now free multi-speed 10 Gig switch port.
Both transfer speeds and processing power are impressive for a NAS at this price, and you can pack in up to 8TB of hard drive capacity here – which should be enough for most users. Accessing your data from remote devices, including Android and iOS phones, is straightforward too.
The warranties are longer on this, the support seems better and the sheer robust nature of it’s build should be why you are considering this NAS for your business.

… the addition of snapshots on the NAS as well as snapshot backups on other devices as enabled by the current Buffalo TeraStation 6000 series NAS generation can provide a particularly fast fix.
Unlike an ordinary backup, a snapshot requires hardly any system resources to create and restore. The bigger advantage, however, is that it requires a lot less storage space.
The NAS systems still cope comparatively well with large files like the UHD movie. The test participants Qnap TS-251A and TS-328 as well as Buffalo Terastation 3210DN with 108 MB/s show this in writing.
This device represents the changing tide in networking and arriving at both a price and hardware point that aggressively competes with the likes of Synology and QNAP on this growing demand for 2.5-5Gbe solutions for 2020.
The performance of the Buffalo TeraStation 5210DN is also very strong. Using an SSD, the NAS can reach up to 390MB/s or 675MB/s via 10Gbit LAN. An impressive speed!
It’s really a great device, it’s a rock-solid performer. I’ve been testing this for three weeks now and I’ve had zero issues, it was very easy to set up.
